Risto-Pekka Blom (born 1970) is a filmmaker who navigates the intersection of media and film art, known primarily for his distinctive short films. Over the course of his career, he has created over a dozen short films that have received recognition at prestigious events such as the Tampere Film Festival, Norwegian Short Film Festival, and Cork International Film Festival. Blom’s work is characterized by his experimental approach to form and narrative, as he strives to explore and strengthen his unique voice. Common themes woven throughout his works encompass the human experience and the sense of alienation, social justice, and the external expectations placed upon individuals regarding how life should be lived. Most of his works also incorporate humor, emerging from a profound seriousness.
