Ääriö ry is a non-profit association based in Turku, Finland, specializing in curating video art, and whose stated purpose is furthering the exposure of audiovisual art.

Our values and guiding principles include fairness, gentleness, considerateness, inclusivity, equality, justness, transparency, and trustworthiness. Having no jurying fee in our open call for submissions for Video Art Festival Turku (VAFT), not charging for entry to the festival, and committing to paying a screening fee to featured artists are some of our central value choices, for social and economic equality.

Ääriö ry organizes contemporary art events, most notable the Video Art Festival Turku (VAFT), which is held once every 1.5 years. VAFT's production team consists of professional culture workers, who have their background in art and cultural history, museum field, curating, media studies, communications and marketing, event production and graphic design. The association also employs photography and cinematography professionals to record held events.


Now you have the chance to join Ääriö, the association behind Video Art Festival Turku. By becoming a support member you'll support the organizing of VAFT and also receive information about other events. Permanent membership costs 10 euros.
