ÄÄRIÖ RY

Ääriö ry is a non-profit association based in Turku, Finland, specializing in curating video art, and whose stated purpose is furthering the exposure of audiovisual art.

 

The association organizes contemporary art events, most notably the annually held Video Art Festival Turku (VAFT). The association's guiding principles are fairness, gentleness, considerateness, inclusivity, equality, justness, transparency and trustworthiness. Having no jurying fee in our open call for submissions, not charging for entry to the festival, and committing to paying a screening fee to featured artists are some of our central value choices for social and economic equality.

Now you have the chance to join Ääriö, the association behind Video Art Festival Turku. By becoming a support member you'll support the organizing of VAFT and also receive information about other events. Permanent membership costs 5 euros.
