A technological invention allows its wearers to shift and wander between infinite possibilities. However, as the wearers soon discover, mysterious occurrences begin to take place as physical and digital environments begin to combine. In a world where the lines between our urban spaces and our digital environment are continuously blurring, what is the best possible path forward, if there still is one? Crazy Lotus explores themes of escapism and the dual nature of technology as both enticing and terrifying.
Naween Noppakun (b. 1983) is an audiovisual-artisan who produces works through innovative methods of transforming the knowledge of sound into visual experiences. His first two short films have won various awards and screened at film and video art festivals worldwide. His third short – Crazy Lotus – received the Tiger Short Award at IFFR 2024.
